As reported in Buffalo Business First, Edenesque, a Buffalo-based plant-based dairy startup, was one of 10 companies selected to participate in Whole Foods Market's 2024 local and emerging accelerator program.
Founded in 2014 by Leslie Woodward, Edenesque relocated to Buffalo to be closer to manufacturing and distribution partners Steuben Foods and Sonwil Logistics. Part of UB's Cultivator program, the startup is located at 701 Ellicott St. in UB's incubator space.
The article shares that the startup transitioned from an artisan to a co-manufacturing model, extending its product shelf life from 21 days to 12 months.
Since re-entering the market in January, Edenesque generated $5,000 in revenue within the first 22 days and over $50,000 within the first six months. Currently, its annual run rate exceeds half a million dollars. The company will launch a new website in October to expand its e-commerce operations and will begin selling at Whole Foods across New York State in November.
