Living on campus provides you with built-in connections to academic programs as well as opportunities to become involved with student clubs and organizations all while making friends that will last a lifetime.

What to Expect at Move In

Opening Date: 1/30

  • Report to your designated check-in location anytime during your scheduled 1-hour appointment window.
  • Designated check-in locations are in the area and village office for your assigned residence hall/apartment.
  • A staff member will check you in and give you your key, as well as directions to your room or apartment location.
  • You will only be allowed 2 helpers during move in.

Move In Appointments

New residents will be required to schedule a move in time before arriving on campus. These appointments will allow for social distancing during move in.

You will select from 1 hour time slots during move in hours.

You can arrive anytime during your scheduled time slot and you will then have 3 hours to complete move in.

Slots are limited so we encourage you to sign up as soon as appointments become available (after you have selected your room).

To select (or cancel/change) an appointment:

  1. Log into the Campus Living Housing Portal
  2. Select “Move in and Break Housing Requests” from the main menu bar
  3. Follow instructions for making a move in appointment
  4. Select one timeslot from those available. Appointment timeslots are limited and available on a first come/first serve basis, so you may not get your first choice. If your preferred appointment is not available and you are unable to modify your plans, please select an appointment closest to your arrival time on your expected return/move-in date and we will do our best to accommodate you.
  5. You will receive an email confirming your request, cancellation or change.

Those requiring a move-in date prior to January 30 may request Early Arrival through the Campus Living break housing process. The earliest permitted date is January 22. Students must meet one of the criteria listed and additional daily charges will apply.

  • Students who have items shipped to campus prior to their arrival will be sent an email with details on how to pick up their mail.
  • All mail & packages sent prior to your arrival on campus should be picked up as a part of your check in process during your assigned 3 hour move in window.

Health and Safety Requirements

Per SUNY guidelines, all students must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to attend in-person classes and to live in on-campus residence halls and apartments.

All students living on campus are required to submit their proof of vaccination (or submit a request for a medical or religious exemption) to the UB Health Services Portal

If you have been granted a medical or religious exemption to the vaccine requirement you are required to participate in mandatory COVID-19 surveillance testing once a week throughout the semester. If, for any reason, you miss a week of testing, you will receive both an email and a phone call communicating that you are in violation of university policy.

Missing any two weeks of testing throughout the semester will result in immediate resignation from courses and removal from on-campus housing.

Clement Hall on our South Campus and a portion of our Flickinger Court Apartments have been set aside as dedicated quarantine space reserved for the needs of on-campus residents during the 2021-2022 year.

Our dedicated staff are ready to help with everything that you may need including transportation to your quarantine assignment, testing, meals, and anything else that will make your stay in quarantine the best experience possible.

Assignment Changes

At UB, we will work with you to try to accommodate housing change requests. However, these changes may take time, and are not always possible due to room availability and other considerations.

Take a Virtual Room Tour

360 degree panoramic photos and virtual tours of each room style are available online.

Cancel Housing

The housing cancellation deadline is December 1. Cancellation requests received after this date will be evaluated on a case by case basis and may incur a financial penalty.

All cancellation requests should be submitted directly through the housing portal
