Radioactive Materials/Radiation Producing Equipment Authorization for Associate Investigator
An Associate Investigator uses this application for authorization to work under the direction of a Principal Investigator (PI) who has a radioactive materials or radiation producing equipment permit.
To request authorization to use open sources of radioactive material, sealed radioactive sources or radiation producing machines as a individual (technician, faculty or staff) working under the supervision of and directly responsible to a Principal Investigator, you must:
- Be 18 or older (individuals under the age of 18 (minors) require additional approval from EH&S to work with ionizing radiation).
- Review the information in the Campus Radioactive Materials Safety Manual(390 KB) and/or Campus Radiation Equipment Safety Manual
- Review the Instructions Concerning Prenatal Radiation Exposures
- Review the information in the Guide to Radioactive Waste Management(98 KB) if using radioactive material.
- Review the Commitment to Health and Safety in the Working and Learning Environment Policy
