Panopto Instructional Media Service

Panopto is a university-wide recording, streaming and video on demand cloud service. Faculty and staff can use Panopto to upload or record instructional content on computers or mobile devices, in UB classrooms, or as a personal recording option in the office or at home. Panopto's recording software can be installed on university or personal devices.

The Panopto Remote Recorder is installed in certain centrally scheduled classrooms and automates the recording and publishing of classroom recordings. Faculty and staff can request recordings in these spaces. Some departmental classrooms have Panopto Remote Recorders built-in as well, check with your IT support staff. In other centrally scheduled classrooms, Panopto for Windows recording software is installed on the classroom PC. The software can record the camera and microphone in the room along with the computer screen or document camera.
