UB faculty and students using Panopto will notice several updates to the platform's interface and transcription features, designed to improve ease of use and accessibility.
Panopto is introducing a new three-dot menu on both folders and individual videos within the web portal. This menu provides quicker access for faculty and students to commonly used tasks such as renaming, sharing and moving files, streamlining the management of video content.
In addition to the interface improvements, Panopto now offers the ability to download video transcripts. This feature enables viewers to download captions as a plain text file, free from captioning markup or timestamps, making it easier to reference and utilize the transcript content.
This feature can be accessed in two ways: through the captions section in the full web viewer or via the advanced features section in the embedded video viewer. The latter can be accessed by selecting the arrow at the bottom middle of the embedded video viewer.
