UB Login Phish - Do not open attachment from 'IT Support Team [Ticket ID: 704474]' email 07-10-20

IT Security Alert.

An email supposedly from "University at Buffalo" claims that your mailbox failed to deliver 3 messages due to system errors and encourages you to open the attachment to restore the messages automatically.

  1. The address buffalo@uni.com is not a UB email address.
  2. There is no such thing as "IT Support Team" at UB.

I already clicked the attachment. What should I do?

  • If clicked on the attachment, but did not enter your password, please check that your computer security or anti virus program is on and up to date.

I did not click on the attachment. What should I do?

Delete the email.
