UB's STARS Assessment 2018

"While we are proud of this record of leadership, we are not content to stand still; we recognize that sustainability is not just a goal to be achieved, but culture change for creating a better future. As we advance our model of sustained resilient evolution for our university, we're focused on embedding a culture of sustainable thinking and practice into all aspects of day-to-day activities and long-term plans for our university.”

--UB President Satish K. Tripathi

In December 2018, the University at Buffalo completed its third comprehensive, University-wide sustainability assessment through the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) of administered by the Association of Advancement for Sustainability in Higher Education.

UB continues to make advances in sustainability, from a silver rating in 2012, to our first gold in 2015 with 65.4 points, and maintaining a gold with 69.25 points. This reflects the truly sustainable effort through our operations, teaching, research, and engagement with the community from every member of our campus.
