Access to Animal Care Facilities

Your animals and your research are secured behind closed doors, many requiring a security card for access.

You will not receive your access card until:

  • you are listed on an approved protocol;
  • have completed the IACUC training;
  • enrolled in the Occupational Health Monitoring Program;
  • attended an orientation tour at the LAF.

For access to the on-campus animal facilities, including those in the Research Institute on Addictions (RIA):

Once your request is approved, you will be issued a code number. At RIA, you use this code number when signing in at the front security desk.

For access to the Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC), you will need a Kaleida Health security ID badge. You can request this badge at the Buffalo General Medical Center ID room - E-321. ID Room hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday 10:00am-11:30am
  • Monday - Thursday 1:00pm-2:30pm
  • Friday      10:00am-11:30am

You also must complete the LAF access request form.
