Access to Animal Care Facilities

Your animals and your research are secured behind closed doors, many requiring a security card for access.

Card Access

You will not receive your access card until:

  • you are listed on an approved protocol;
  • You will then ahve 90 days to complete the IACUC training you will be assigned by the IACUC relatying to your protocol.

For access to the on-campus animal facilities, including those in the Research Institute on Addictions (RIA):

  • Complete the Access Request Form,
  • Attach a photocopy of your UB card
  • Send your request to:

For access to the Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC), you will need a Kaleida Health security ID badge. You can request this badge at the Buffalo General Medical Center ID room - E-321. ID Room hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday 10:00am-11:30am
  • Monday - Thursday 1:00pm-2:30pm
  • Friday 10:00am-11:30am  

You also must complete the LAF access request form.
