East Amherst’s Kulture Khazana breaks into Macy’s

As reported by Buffalo Inno, Kulture Khazana LLC, a consumer goods company with products that connect families and children to South Asian culture including Diwali celebrations, announced that its products are now on Macy’s website and available inside 11 stores, including the flagship store in Herald Square in Manhattan.

Founded in 2018, the business started as a book distributor. When the pandemic hit, founder Akruti Babaria pivoted her home-based business to add toys, games, crafts, and puzzles.

Kulture Khazana, which employs two and expects to grow, graduated from UB’s Cultivator program in 2023 and received a $100,000 investment as part of the program.

In 2024, Babaria also partnered with the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. to include Kulture Khazana craft activities for visitors to the National Museum of Asian Art’s Diwali event and offer its products for sale in the museum shop.

Kulture Khazana is also sold online at Nordstrom, Walmart, Target, and Amazon.
