As reported by The Buffalo News, the Buffalo Niagara region, along with Rochester and Syracuse, has secured $40 million from the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s tech hub program to boost the semiconductor industry. Under the NY SMART I-Corridor initiative, the funds will support manufacturing, workforce training, and technology commercialization in these regions. The University at Buffalo will lead efforts to strengthen the supply chain through the Supply Chain Activation Network. The collaboration among these regions aims to attract more investment and companies, enhancing upstate New York’s position in the semiconductor industry.
