Need a ride home for break? You can get express transportation from UB's North Campus to New York City, Albany, Syracuse and Binghamton.
The Express Bus Home only travels on specific days based on UB breaks, not every weekend.
A limited number of tickets are available.
Check back for the 2018-19 UB Express Bus Home schedule, coming this fall semester.
The Express Bus Home is exclusively available to UB students, faculty, staff and their friends and family. Each university member purchasing a bus ticket can purchase one additional ticket for a friend or family member. At least one UB photo ID card is required to board the bus. Guests will also need photo ID to board.
You are welcome to travel on the Express Bus Home even if your destination city is not your home. However, please note that you are responsible for your own transportation and place to stay once you reach your destination.
The Express Bus Home departs from Lee Road outside of Greiner Hall on the North Campus and returns to this same location.

Tickets are round trip only and are only valid on selected dates. To buy tickets, you will need a credit card, your UB person number, and personal and emergency contact information for all passengers (names and phone numbers). When you buy your tickets, you will also have the chance to buy tickets to the same destination for multiple breaks. (To purchase tickets to different destinations on multiple weekends, you must start the ticketing process over.) Tickets may be purchased up to 48 hours before departure, based on seating availability.
There are no refunds under any circumstances, so please plan your trip dates carefully. Tickets are valid for one round trip only and only for the dates on your confirmation page. Tickets can be exchanged for another date when seating is available.
If you absolutely cannot make the trip once your tickets are purchased, please contact the Parking and Transportation Services office so your reservation won’t delay the bus departure:
Everyone — including guests — must show photo ID at boarding. Please remember that at least one person in your traveling party must be a member of the UB community, with UB photo ID. Have the purchase confirmation page with you as proof of your trip reservation and payment, in case confirmation is needed.
Passengers are responsible for getting to the bus stop at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. Parking and Transportation Services and the transportation provider are not responsible for a passenger’s transportation, expenses or arrangements for alternative transportation if the passenger misses the bus on either the departure or return trip. Tickets are non-refundable.
Each passenger is allowed to bring one standard size suitcase (this will be placed in the luggage compartment of the bus), as well as a small carry-on bag (backpack size). Passengers are responsible for handling carry-on bags at all times. Food and beverages are allowed on the trip. However, alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Each bus has a bathroom, as well as Wi-Fi access.
To transfer your tickets to another person, you must notify the Parking and Transportation Services office 48 hours prior to departure. Whoever uses your ticket(s) must also have your purchase confirmation page, which is required to board the bus. Also, keep in mind that at least one member of the traveling party must be a UB member and must show a valid UB photo ID to board the bus.
There are a limited number of buses with wheelchair lifts. Please notify the Parking and Transportation Services office when you purchase your ticket if you require this service.
During the ticket purchase process you will be asked for an email address and cell phone number for each rider. UB will make every attempt to reach riders in the event of a cancellation or delay due to extreme weather conditions or emergencies. In the event of an emergency or extreme weather, individuals may contact the Parking and Transportation Services office or University Police for more details.
