New Financial Dashboard in SIRI

Starting Jan. 20, we're replacing the Money dashboard with the new Financial Dashboard. The new and improved Financial Dashboard brings together everything from the Money dashboard and adds even more powerful features.

If you previously had unit access to the four legacy dashboards, you will have access to the new Financial Dashboard. No need to request special access.

What’s Changing

This dashboard combines the strategic (e.g, Strategic Financial Management) and operational (e.g., Money, Account Management) dashboards into one, using common terms (based on UPlan) and consistent business rules.

Terminology

By default, you'll see Sources and Uses instead of Revenues and Expenditures/Encumbrances, although legacy fields will still be available for reporting.

Business Rules

Items like GUSF and Fringes are treated as Uses (expenditures) rather than negative Sources (revenue). If you’ve used the Strategic Financial dashboards, these rules will already feel familiar.

Dashboard Prompts

The dashboard prompts for Organizational Structure will now be limited to only show values based on your security access. This will greatly reduce the number of departments and entities you will see in the dropdowns.

Key Improvements

  • Customizable reports: Add or remove fields and totals, sort by multiple columns, move fields, turn them into prompts, create new calculations and more
  • Consistent prompts: Available across nearly all pages and subpages
  • Flexible reporting: Filter every report using the full org structure and major chart of accounts fields—providing summary and transactional reports by entity, department or VP/Decanal Unit (unlike Money, which limited detail to the account level)
  • Department Use fields: Increasingly available for filtering and reporting. Contact your Unit Business Officer for more details on how to incorporate Department Use Fields in your reporting
  • Financial "Portal": A dashboard Home page will become your starting point for all financial reporting. Here you will find Quick Links to foundational reports, important announcements and Alerts to prevent or address account issues
  • Centralized reporting: Analyses from multiple dashboards are now consolidated into one, eliminating the need to switch between dashboards or hunt for specific reports

Transition from Legacy Dashboards

With the launch of the new Financial Dashboard, the legacy dashboards (Money, Money Management, Account Management and Strategic Financial Management) will be retired for departmental users.

  • Many legacy reports have been replicated; others can be rebuilt using the customization features and saved for reuse
  • If you previously had unit access to the four legacy dashboards, you now have access to the new Financial Dashboard instead
  • If your access was limited to temporary service or OTPS-only dashboards, your access remains unchanged
  • Central business office users will have access to the new Financial Dashboard in addition to their current dashboards

Once you log into SIRI, you can find the new Financial Dashboard under the Dashboards dropdown → Financial Dashboards folder.

Please take time to review the Financial Dashboard Crosswalk Document, which details where information from the legacy dashboards now appears in the new dashboard, as well as the site map, which outlines what you can find on each page. Links to both can be found on the Financial Home Page of the new Financial dashboard under Forms and Links.
