Set Your Browser to Log Out Completely from Services that Use UBITName Login
Some browser settings store your UBITName and password and automatically log you back into UBITName Login services such as MyUB or UB Learns when the browser is opened again (regardless who opens it).

Use Secure Browser Settings
To help keep your UBITName Login services secure, make sure your Web browsers do not store this information. Use the following settings:
- Open Chrome.
- Choose Chrome > Settings. (In Ubuntu, choose Edit > Preferences)
- Under On startup, select Open the New Tab page.
- Select Privacy and Security
- Select Site Settings
- Select Additional Content Settings
- Select On-device site data
- Select Delete data sites have saved to your device when you close all windows
- Select ... > Settings.
- Scroll down to Privacy and security.
- Tap Delete browsing data on quit.
- Tap the toggle next to Delete browsing data on quit to turn it on.
- Check the items you want to clear every time you quit Firefox.
- Choose your system:
- For Windows, select Tools > Settings
- For Macintosh, select Firefox > Preferences
- For Ubuntu, select Edit > Preferences
- Select Home
- For Homepage and new windows, select Custom URLs
- Enter your desired homepage in the Paste a URL field
- Click Privacy and Security
- Under History, select Use custom settings for history.
- Select Clear History when Firefox closes.
- Under Cookies and Site Data, select Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed
- Select ... > Settings
- Select Cookies and site permissions
- Under Cookies, select Cookies and site data
- Under Clear on exit, check Clear browsing data and close
- Switch on:
- Browsing history
- Cookies and other site data
Don't Save Passwords Unless Using a Passcode
If you saved your password when using MyUB, UB Learns, UBmail, or any other service that uses UBITName Login, anyone using that computer can log in as you to those services.
Don't save your UBITName and password or, if you must, be sure you are the only person using it and that access to your device is protected with a password or passcode.
Learn how to remove a saved password to UBITName Login services and disable the save password settings:
- Select Menu > Settings.
- Tap Privacy.
- De-select Remember passwords.
- Tap Clear private data.
- Select Cookies & active logins.
- Select Saved passwords.
- Tap Clear data.
- Choose your system:
- For Windows, select Tools > Settings
- For Macintosh, select Firefox > Preferences
- For Ubuntu, select Edit > Preferences
- Click Privacy & Security.
- Under Passwords, deselect Ask to save passwords
- Select Settings > Passwords
- Under Passwords & AutoFill., turn off Autofill Passwords and Passkeys
Password Protect If Using Sync Services
Sync services (Firefox, Chrome) sync your browser's bookmarks and passwords to other devices. Either do not use sync or else use a password or passcode to access your devices.
