The town hall is presented by UB Information Technology and UBIT Faculty Fellow Valerie Nesset, Ph.D. With Dr. Nesset’s help, UBIT has engaged in several new faculty-focused efforts in 2017, including UB’s first-ever IT Faculty Survey, and the introduction of a Faculty Liaison group to foster collaboration and awareness between faculty and IT technical staff.

“It’s critical for IT to engage with faculty, and vice-versa,” said Dr. Nesset. “There are real disconnects between how services are designed to be used, and how faculty actually use them.

“Efforts like these ensure that faculty voices are heard, and technical staff are making choices with the faculty’s best interests in mind.”
