Description of the phish / scam

Emails were being sent from compromised UB accounts that claimed that your account is being set for deactivation and that you need to join a Zoom meeting to avoid the deactivation.

How you can tell it is a scam

  • UB will never send you emails telling you your account is being deactivated and ask you to click a link.
  • Zoom software should always be downloaded from the legitimate site. Hovering over the link shows that it does not point to UB or Zoom.
