Student Remembrance Ceremony

Pink flowers on South Campus.

At this annual ceremony, we mourn the loss of these beloved individuals, and reflect upon the impact they had — on us, our friends and the entire campus community.

Remembering Our Students

UB invites you to join us as we remember our students who passed away during the academic year. Come together as we dedicate a brick on the promenade in permanent remembrance of each student at the end of academic year.

UB Memorial Flag Etiquette

Display and use of the UB Memorial Flag, located at Lee Loop, is determined by the Vice President for Student Life (or designee).

The UB Memorial Flag will descend to half-mast in the following situations:

• Death of a current UB student

• Annual Student Remembrance Ceremony

• Death of a sitting or former UB President

• National event of hardship at the discretion of the Vice President for Student Life/designee

Displays of other flags on campus (such as the United States flag, International flags, New York State flag, etc.) follow protocol issued under the Federal Flag Code (PUBLIC LAW 94-344).
