Residency Application

Students who wish to be considered for resident tuition should review the eligibility requirements and complete a residency application if they can provide the requested supporting documentation.

Beginning Thursday, April 2, 3:00 p.m. the application will not be available for non-military applicants.

Application for the Summer Semester will be available starting Thursday, April 30, 1:00 p.m.

Application for the Fall Semester will be available starting Monday, June 1, 1:00 p.m.

Start your online residency application now. Once completed, click the “Send me my application to complete” button.

Your application and further instructions will be emailed to your UB email address.  

We will receive a digital copy of your application. However, please print your application signature pages and complete all necessary fields. Include handwritten signatures and dates where requested. Your application packet must include all required documentation on your emailed application. Pay attention to other special instructions, such as application submission deadlines and notarization requirements.

Paperless Submission Instructions

You will upload your application signature page(s) and all required documentation. Please note to only use the secure Document Upload Center link provided in your instructions email.

Your application submission date is the date the signed application packet is uploaded in the secure Document Upload Center. Your official submission must include all requested additional documentation to be considered valid.

Student Accounts will send a confirmation email to your UB email address once we receive your complete application packet. Once your application and documentation have been reviewed, further instructions will follow.

The application form is always available for you to apply. Approval will be applied to your next accepted semester.

Graduate and professional-level students should contact their academic units regarding questions during the initial admission's residency verification.
