The modernized version of the ClinicalTrials.gov Protocol Registration and Results System will become the primary website on August 28.

The National Library of Medicine recently posted an update on ClinicalTrials.gov modernization, alerting users of the ClinicalTrials.gov Protocol Registration and Results System (PRS) that on August 28, 2024, PRS Beta would become the primary website for Protocol Registration. Users are also notified of the impending change upon logging into the PRS (pictured below).

University at Buffalo Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) ClinicalTrials.gov Protocol Registration and Results System Administrators Lynn Jagodzinski, CTSI Clinical Research Regulatory Administrator, and Urmo “Mo” Jaanimägi, CTSI Quality Assurance Specialist, have shared progress of the development of the modernized version of the website in previous stories.

Jagodzinski and Jaanimägi emphasize that while the PRS Beta will become the primary website, the classic website will still be available and retirement of the classic version is not expected before mid-2025. More specifically, when PRS users log in after August 28, 2024, the Record List is presented on the modernized PRS. Protocol registrations will then occur using the modernized PRS, but to complete results submissions and to use other features, users must return to the classic PRS. For more information, see here.
