When using campus buses and shuttles, following these guidelines will help ensure your safety.
- At your stop, gather your belongings (make sure you have everything!*) and wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before standing up.
- Cross the street behind the bus. This helps you see and be seen by other motorists.
- If you must cross in front of the bus, walk at least 10 feet ahead of the bus, ensuring the driver can see you.
- Cross in a marked crosswalk whenever possible.
- Keep an eye out for oncoming vehicles. Drivers are not required to stop for campus buses and shuttles.
*If you leave something on a bus or shuttle, contact the Parking and Transportation office, 716-645-3943, or email transportation@buffalo.edu. A ‘Lost and Found’ will be checked, or the bus company will be notified, and every effort will be made to reunite you with your belonging(s).
