Assistant or Associate Professor, School of Architecture and Planning

Position Summary

The School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor or associate professor in planning, development, and design for global health equity.

The school, in partnership with the university-wide Community of Excellence in Global Health Equity, is looking for expertise in international policy, planning, development, urban design, architecture, and/or construction in the Global South. Both academics and practitioners are urged to apply, as are applicants with experience in a variety of sectors that influence well being, including the planning, design, or construction of infrastructure, housing, healthcare, etc. Candidates with strengths in quantitative, qualitative, or design methods are welcome.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a doctoral degree in a planning- or design-related field, a terminal degree and licensure/credentialing in a planning- or design-related field, or a master's degree and extensive work experience in international policy, international development, global health, or allied fields. A strong record or potential for extramural funding, publication, and interdisciplinary collaboration is required. 

In addition to the above, we especially seek candidates with experience or keen interest in curriculum development, innovations in teaching, and student recruitment.
