UB student musicians from Buffalo String Works (BSW) recently
played an outreach concert for elementary school students at
Buffalo P.S. 18 on the city's West Side. BSW, a nonprofit
organization, offers personalized instruction on violin — and
soon, cello — at no cost to refugee children, who comprise a
significant portion of the West Side’s population.
A 1960s reunion, lectures, bonfires and football were all part
of Homecoming Weekend 2016, held Oct. 6-8. A longstanding
tradition, Homecoming gives alumni the chance to come back to
Buffalo, reconnect with friends, and see what’s new on
Members of the UB community and general public gathered on Sept.
23 to celebrate the official grand reopening of Hayes Hall, the
iconic home of the university’s School of Architecture and
Planning. The hall underwent a $44 million renovation that began in
2010 and concluded earlier this year.
