UB Alumni Association Scholarships

UB students working together to solve a problem.

Leading the charge for the next generation is part of our DNA and we show that through supporting UB students.

Each year the UB Alumni Association awards four scholarships to deserving UB students, continuing their commitment to support the next generation of outstanding UB graduates.

  • J. Scott Fleming Merit Award

Recognizes leadership efforts through UB extracurricular and volunteer activities.

The J. Scott Fleming Merit Award was established in 1985 through student fundraising initiatives led by the University Student Alumni Board, which is now called the Future Alumni Leadership Council. This peer-to-peer cash award recognizes full-time undergraduate and graduate students whose leadership efforts in extracurricular and volunteer activities has promoted student involvement and enhanced the student experience at UB. Finalists may be interviewed. The award honors J. Scott Fleming, who served as executive director of the Office of Alumni Relations (now Alumni Engagement).

  • UB Alumnae Scholarship

The UB Alumnae Scholarship is awarded to UB students who exemplify the University's ideals of leadership, learning, and service and show promise for continuing to advance those ideals. • UBAA Forever Blue Alumni Scholarship

For UB alumni who are seeking a second degree from University at Buffalo.

The UBAA Forever Blue Alumni Scholarship was established in 2019 by the UB Alumni Association Board of Directors to recognize deserving and passionate UB alumni who choose to continue their education at the University at Buffalo. By creating this new scholarship, the UBAA Board of Directors hoped to supplement existing scholarships and awards offered by the Alumni Association to support UB graduates who choose to return to UB for a second degree and continue their exceptional educational experience.
