Support research and excellence across a broad range of industrial and systems engineering disciplines through this fund.

Created in 1946, the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is one of the founding departments of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at UB. Here, we are committed to advancing research and education in numerous disciplines, including operations research, production systems, manufacturing, quality, simulation and human factors.

Our world-class faculty work together at the intersection of these areas on research in a variety of domains, ranging from health care, to defense systems, to intelligent transportations and advanced manufacturing. Joint projects and joint publications are a way of life for us, reflecting real-world problems. Our faculty and student research challenges traditional notions of problem-solving and generates creative and groundbreaking solutions.

Within the department, we educate students via a variety of pedagogical approaches that support different learning styles to prepare our students for professional success and encourage life-long learning. We are proud to provide an scholarly home to enthusiastic students and faculty who have come from all over North America and the world.
