Bullying abuse is an issue that has received the attention of the media, legislators, and the general public. 

In this webinar, that what, why, and how of bullying will be described. Effective prevention and intervention practices will be reviewed. Parents, educators, and other community members will learn more about actions they can take to prevent bullying.

Amanda Nickerson, Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Counseling, School, and Educational Psychology and is the inaugural director of the Alberti Center for Bullying Abuse Prevention in the Graduate School of Education at UB. She has published widely about preventing and intervening with school crises, violence, and bullying and the role of schools, parents, and peers in promoting social-emotional strengths of children and adolescents. As a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist, she is committed to translating research into effective prevention and intervention practices.
