UB Wi-Fi to Go

UB Wi-Fi to Go is a portable "hot spot" available to order for presentations, speeches, meetings or events that are out of range of UB's Wi-Fi.

Requirements

  • UB Wi-Fi to Go is available to UB faculty, staff and UB student clubs.
  • Your event must be in range of Verizon 4G LTE signal.

Provided Networks

Within five minutes of setup, the following preferred Wi-Fi networks are available:

  • eduroam - Log in with UB email address (jdoe@buffalo.edu) and UBITName password
  • UB Connect - Log in with an email address of your choice

Common Questions

How long does the battery last?

Five to six hours, but it can be plugged in if power is available.

How much traffic can UB Wi-Fi to Go handle?

  • General Web usage: 8-10 people
  • Video usage: 3-4 people

Is there a charge for the service?

No, there is no charge for UB Wi-Fi to Go.

How do I use UB Wi-Fi to Go?

A UBIT technician will set up the hot spot at your event. All you need to do is make sure you are ready to connect to one of UB’s Wi-Fi networks in the usual way with the devices you will be using.
