Through harm reduction strategies, wellness coaching, mental health support and high-quality medical care, Student Life fosters a vibrant, healthy campus community.
12,937 counseling appointments were provided to 1,937 students during the academic year.

Student Life hosts stress management events to help students stay balanced, healthy, and at their best.
1,000 annual yoga attendees, 250 wellness coaching appointments, 100+ stress management programs, including 550 attendees at Health Promotion’s Chill Out event.
6,139 students participated in 50 alcohol and other drug harm reduction trainings/workshops/events including UB SAFER & AlcoholEdu.
600 students visited the craft room, played bingo, and enjoyed relaxation space and therapy dogs during the semester.
341 students met with by Student Support and Resources after they experienced illness, injury, hospitalization, or a death in the family.
Nearly 10,000 pieces of fruit were distributed during Snacking Tuesday’s in spring 2025.
706 items were dispensed from our Health and Wellness vending machines, everything from A to Z, Antacids to Zyrtec.

Student Life promotes lifelong health and wellness by offering physical activities and wellness education through residential facilities classes and various student clubs and organizations.
65,992 student visits to ResFit, UB’s on-campus residential fitness facilities during the 2024-25 academic year.
Number of calories students burned using UB Bike Share during the 2025 Opening Weekend is equal to 588 wings.

1000+ people toured the newly launched True Blue Tour Room, led by student guide hosts over the course of Open House, Discovery Day, and Fall Open House events.

59 Campus Dining and Shops student leaders successfully completed the Here to Career+ program focusing on Leadership, Equity and Inclusion, and Teamwork.
41 Health Promotion programs for sexual violence prevention have been delivered since the Fall 2024 semester by peer educators, making a total of 343 student contacts.
500 pieces of fruit were prepared weekly by students for Snacking Tuesday events across all three campuses.

2,900 hours of service were performed by 35 students enrolled and placed by Empire State Service Corps.
113 student research positions comprising of 77 different research projects across seven decanal units were funded by the Undergraduate Research Project.
200+ student volunteers rotate weekly within the Food Recovery Network to assist in securing food for those in need in the WNY community.
952 students voted on North and nearSouth Campus, made possible by the leadership of the Ambassadors of Civic Engagement, who interacted with 627 voters this academic year.
2,179 service hours were completed this academic year by the Intercultural and Diversity Center’s Diversity Advocates.

To New Beginnings
Orientation, held during the month of July, welcomed thousands of new UB students to preview their UB journey.
An average of 99% of family members who participated in Orientation confirmed that Student Life staff was knowledgeable, well organized and friendly.
94% of New to UB respondents found the information about campus resources and academic support helpful.
Moving in and Making Moves
5,068 move in appointments were completed
4,000+ resident students attended First Community Meetings.
1,944 first-year students attended Academics at UB programming.
A Healthy, Happy Campus During Opening Week
UB students live active, healthy lives, and take care of their mental and physical well-being while they live and learn on campus.
2,600+ students participated in The Hook Up - an interactive show that explores "hook up" culture.
9,544 new undergraduate and graduate students completed alcohol reduction and sexual assault prevention training.
500+ students pedaled their own fruit smoothies on a Fender Blender Bike at the Campus Dining and Shops tent at Campus Fest.
92 miles were walked by each member of the Marching Band during eight days of band camp.
First-year students took part in the Career Design Center's "Design Your UB Experience" to learn about the UB experience.
