UBIT Classroom Technology Standards

Classroom Technology Standard includes:

  • UB teaching station with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) capability
  • Windows OS computer with single lectern monitor
  • Touch panel technology controls
  • Document camera
  • Wireless presentation
  • Single projector or wall mount display
  • Course recording hardware appliance or dedicated computer with capture cards for audio, video, and content
  • Video conferencing utilizing in-room cameras and microphones

Centrally Scheduled Classroom Types

Classroom Traditional, Small (less than 50 seats)

Defined teaching wall with all student seats oriented forward.
  • UB teaching station with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) capability
  • Windows OS computer with single lectern monitor
  • Touch panel technology controls
  • Document camera
  • Wireless presentation
  • Single projector or wall mount display
  • Course recording hardware appliance, or dedicated computer with capture cards for audio, video, and content
  • Video conferencing utilizing in-room cameras and microphones

Classroom Traditional, Medium (50 - 100 seats)

All of the above Standard Technology plus:

  • Additional ceiling microphones and cameras may be required
  • Dual projection may be required or desired
  • Dual lectern monitors may be required or desired

Classroom Lecture Hall, Large (100 seats or more)

All of the above Standard Technology plus:

  • Additional ceiling microphones and cameras may be required
  • Larger and brighter projection/display/viewing area
  • Additional AV infrastructure may be required (TBD)
  • Dual projection may be required or desired
  • Dual lectern monitors may be required or desired

Optional:

  • Direct View LED Video Wall

Classroom Collaboration Space (varying capacity)

All of the above Standard Technology plus:

  • Additional ceiling microphones and cameras may be required
  • Requires multiple projectors/displays
  • Additional AV infrastructure may be required (TBD)

Classroom Lecture Hall, Large Auditorium Seating (100 seats or more)

All of the above Standard Technology plus:

  • Additional microphones and cameras may be required
  • Larger and brighter projection/display/viewing area
  • Additional AV infrastructure may be required or desired
  • Dual lectern monitors may be required or desired

Optional:

  • Direct View LED Video Wall
