UBIT Classroom Technology Standards

Classroom Technology Standard includes:

  • UB teaching station with BYOD capability
  • Windows OS computer with monitor, document camera, and control touch panel
  • Video conferencing
  • Enhanced audio, video, and classroom recording
  • Wireless presentation
  • Single projector or wall mount display
  • Panopto course recording hardware appliance and dedicated computer

Centrally Scheduled Classroom Types

Small Classroom (less than 50 seats)

  • UB teaching station with BYOD capability
  • Windows OS computer with monitor, document camera, and control touch panel
  • Video conferencing
  • Enhanced audio, video, and classroom recording
  • Wireless presentation
  • Single projector or wall mount display
  • Panopto course recording hardware appliance and dedicated computer

Medium Classroom (50 - 100 seats)

All of the above Standard Technology plus:

  • Additional ceiling microphones and cameras may be required
  • Dual projection may be required

Large Classroom / Flat Lecture Hall (100 seats or more)

All of the above Standard Technology plus:

  • Additional ceiling microphones and cameras may be required
  • Larger and brighter projection/display/viewing area
  • Additional AV infrastructure may be required (TBD)
  • Dual projection may be required

Optional:

  • Direct View LED Video Wall

Active Learning (varying capacity)

All of the above Standard Technology plus:

  • Additional ceiling microphones and cameras may be required
  • Requires multiple projectors/displays
  • Additional AV infrastructure may be required (TBD)

Large Lecture Hall Auditorium Seating

All of the above Standard Technology plus:

  • Additional microphones and cameras may be required
  • Larger and brighter projection/display/viewing area
  • Additional AV infrastructure may be required (TBD)

Optional:

  • Direct View LED Video Wall
NOTE:

Currently, not all centrally scheduled classrooms meet these classroom technology standards
