UB Wellfest – April 17, 2018, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

UB Wellfest is a free annual event for UB employees covering all aspects of wellness: emotional, physical, mental and social.

UB’s Information Security Office will host a table throughout the event. Stop by to ask questions, play “pick a card, answer a question” and win giveaways.

Business Day – April 24, 2018, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Business Day is an annual, free UB event for UB employees to get inspired and discover what’s new in the world of work at UB, with an emphasis on topics that matter most to them.

One such topic is cyber security. With phishing attempts becoming more frequent, and increasingly targeting the UB community directly, the need to know how to recognize and avoid the latest scams is greater than ever—and, no matter how experienced you are, there’s always something new to learn.

The ISO team will be tabling during the event. Dr. Catherine J. Ullman, UB’s Senior Information Security Analyst, will be presenting twice during the day on staying safe from social engineering schemes, at 11 a.m., and again at 2:30 p.m.

Stay safe year round

Of course, it’s always a good time to get the latest on cyber security. Visit buffalo.edu/ubit/safe to find out how to protect your UBITName and password, secure your connection, protect your devices, recognize email scams, and what to do if you think you’ve been hacked.
