Getting Started

When developing a grant proposal, it's helpful to have a clear idea of your research goals, to understand what types of funding opportunities might exist and whether you are eligible to apply for the funding. Let's go one step at a time to highlight the support services that will guide you through to success.

Confirm you are a PI

Only eligible University at Buffalo (UB) faculty and staff may serve as a Principal Investigator (PI) on externally funded research, training, or other sponsored project.

Register your Profile

After you verified you are an eligible PI, identify your award sponsor. For federal funding sources create your own ORCID ID and complete your profile. You may also need to use SciENcv to create biosketches and update your current and pending support information.
