OMB Proposed Federal Financial Assistance Rule

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) recently proposed revisions to the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards or Uniform Guidance. If approved, these changes would establish baseline requirements for federal grant programs and manage how awards are issued, approved, monitored or canceled.

Our Office of Research, Innovation and Economic Development is aware of this proposed regulation and its potential impacts on our research community.
We are working closely with our higher education affiliates to submit an institutional response.

The comment period for this proposed rule is underway. Comments are due on or before Monday, July 13, 2026.
