Erin Bailey oversees the university’s Sponsored Project Services organization (SPS) and works closely with other related research units including the Office for Research Advancement, Office of Research Compliance and the Technology Transfer Office. She collaborates with faculty, department chairs, college and school deans, administrative officers, the Office of Research, Innovation and Economic Development (ORIED) to provide effective and meaningful administration of UB’s research administration infrastructure. 

Before joining the ORIED team, Bailey served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) since 2015. At CTSI, she oversaw pre-award and post-award activities and was responsible for administering and facilitating all administrative aspects of sponsored research and fiscal management for the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) funding to UB.

Bailey is an active member of the National Council of University Administrators (NCURA), the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAi), and the National Organization of Research Development Professionals. She has worked at the unit, departmental and leadership levels at UB since 1997.
