Get There Green! 2026 presents an exciting opportunity for the University at Buffalo community to celebrate sustainable transportation options while reducing the environmental impact of daily travel.
Hosted by the NYSDEC, Parking & Transportation Services and UB Sustainability have collaborated on a campaign that will encourage faculty, staff, and students to choose greener commuting methods during September 20-27, including walking, biking, carpooling, public transit and other low-carbon transportation alternatives.
Additional outreach will take place during the South Campus pop-up event on September 15 (weather permitting) and UB Bike Days on September 16, 17 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and 25 (1 to 3 p.m.).
To further engage the campus community, participants will be encouraged to share photos of their green commute experiences on social media. By tagging Parking & Transportation Services (@ubuffaloparking) and UB Sustainability (@ubsustainability) on Instagram (or emailing pictures of your commute to ubgreen@buffalo.edu), UB community members will be eligible to enter a raffle featuring sustainability-themed and transportation-related prizes, including reflective bike accessories, lights, frisbees, license plate covers and other promotional giveaways.
Collected photos may also be featured in a community collage highlighting campus participation and reinforcing UB's commitment to sustainability, wellness, and climate action.
