Thanks to the generosity of alums, staff, supporters and stakeholders, CSTEP is able to provide funding for students engaged in research arranged by CSTEP. The award is named in honor of Dr. Mary Gresham and Dr. John Staley, who together contributed for over 50 years to equity and access on the University at Buffalo campus.
CSTEP is proud to have selected 105 recipients over the past 15 years, totaling nearly $50,000 in awards. The Gresham/Staley Fund is awarded to talented CSTEP students who exemplify a commitment to excellence in both academics and the community.
This annual award is given to CSTEP undergraduate students and UB graduate/professional school students who continue or return as CSTEP alumni. These recipients exemplify a dedication to academic excellence, civic engagement and involvement in CSTEP and the greater Buffalo community. Recipients are announced at the CSTEP Student Celebration Dinner in early May.
Open to continuing CSTEP undergraduates and graduates at the University at Buffalo. Each year, we select multiple recipients for $500 awards that fund research and related activities.
The next application cycle will open in spring 2027.
