Print

Join the Inclusion and Diversity Committee for an important—and timely—conversation with a panel of campus experts about the complexities of freedom of speech at a diverse, public university.

Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm in 210 Student Union.

The session will be moderated by Teri Miller, Vice Provost for Equity and Inclusion.  Our panelists include:

  • Jim Jarvis, SUNY Associate Counsel
  • Joshua Sticht, Deputy Chief of University Police
  • Liz Lidano, Director of Student Conduct and Advocacy
  • Tom Tiberi, Director of Campus Life

This session hopes to discuss and answer questions about:

  • How staff should support and/or respond to student demonstrations and protests
  • How to identify the difference between free speech and targeted harassment
  • Determine if limits exist to free speech on a public university campus
  • Identify institutional policies and procedures that may apply to the expression of free speech at our University

Please contact pssenate@buffalo.edu for additional questions or information.  We hope to see you there!
