For Undergraduate Students Only

The Academic Review process is only conducted for undergraduate students. The Graduate School has its own policies and procedures for monitoring student progress.

The Office of the Registrar Oversees Academic Review Processes

The Student Success and Academic Support office oversees the collection of deferred dismissal appeals and chairs the Academic Review Committee that reviews student appeals. The Office of the Registrar is responsible for all HUB and manual processes associated with Academic Review and communicates academic standing to all undergraduate students via email. Communications are also sent to relevant academic and student life offices to inform them which students have been dismissed.  The Office of the Registrar also coordinates updates or changes to student records related to academic standing.

Academic Advisor Roles

Academic advisors work with students requesting a deferred dismissal to create feasible, realistic academic plans, and answer student questions regarding the implications of changes to academic status. Academic advisors also identify possible inaccuracies in student standings and share their concerns with the Office of the Registrar.

Important Dates for the Academic Review Process

The Academic Review process is usually run in the HUB system around June 1 for spring and January 1 for fall. Those results are immediately available in HUB, and students are emailed 2-3 days later regarding their status. Details and assistance, including instructions regarding a deferred dismissal, are included in the communications.

Request Corrections

Grade changes will often alter a student’s GPA, and, as a result, can change their academic standing. Staff assisting students in this situation are encouraged to contact us.
