All professors teaching undergraduate classes are asked to submit mid-semester evaluations for all students. The Office of the Registrar oversees the collection and publication of these evaluations.
You do not need to wait for graded material to evaluate your students’ progress. You may base your evaluation on early indicators of success, such as class participation or completion of homework assignments.
Dates for the mid-semester review process each semester will be posted on the Information for Faculty page.
Mid-semester review for all undergraduates is an important process in support of student success. Instructor feedback can help:
Professors teaching graduate courses are welcome to participate in the mid-semester review process.
Faculty will be emailed detailed instructions on recording mid-semester evaluations in the HUB Faculty Center and periodic reminders to complete evaluations throughout the process window.
Once the mid-semester review period has concluded, the Office of the Registrar will send a notification to Associate Deans informing them of the faculty participation in their area.
At the conclusion of mid-semester review, the Office of the Registrar will reach out to the advising community, informing them of the overall mid-semester review participation, as well as providing information on how to access mid-semester reports and individual student grades.
The Office of the Registrar notifies students once mid-semester review has been completed. If a student was not provided with mid-semester evaluations, we advise them to speak with their professor(s) for feedback regarding their progress.
It is expected that students whose mid-semester progress is unsatisfactory will seek assistance from their professor(s) and academic advisor, including scheduling a meeting with their academic advisor.
