Electric Buses

Parking and Transportation Services is excited to introduce eight brand new battery electric buses to our fleet this fall. The addition reflects one of the goals in the UB Climate Action Plan to eventually electrify all university vehicles. 

Look for the green "Powered by Electricity" symbol on our e-buses to ride with power! 

Fun Facts:

• Each bus reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 55.6% and  nitrogen dioxide emissions by 100%. 
• Its environmental impact is the equivalent of removing 1,395 cars off the road! 
• Diesel engines emit around 90 decibels of noise. Our electric buses will drastically lower noise levels, with most remaining sounds coming from the motors, tires, HVAC system and road noise. 

UB Bikeshare

UB Bikeshare will now have an extra 75 brand new bicycles to choose from, including 25 with electric-assist capabilities! Keep an eye out for our event introducing the new fleet.

UB Evening Express

The UB Safety Shuttle is now named the UB Evening Express, reflecting its role in providing convenient evening transportation around South Campus. The service continues to operate from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. during the fall and spring semesters, offering safe rides within a 1.5 mile radius of Main Circle.
