On October 24, President Tripathi promulgated the Faculty Senate Resolution to Revise the Policies, Procedures, and Criteria for Appointment, Promotion & Tenure (CAPT), which had been unanimously approved at the September 17, 2024 Faculty Senate meeting. The updated Policies, Procedures, and Criteria for Appointment, Promotion & Tenure are effective as of July 1, 2025.
The following updated Policies, Procedures, and Criteria for Faculty Personnel Actions is effective starting July 1, 2025 for cases being considered in Fall 2025.
For dossiers submitted BEFORE July 1, 2025 for consideration during the 2024-25 academic year, please use the old Policies, Procedures, and Criteria for Appointment, Promotion & Tenure.
No special action is required to grant Emeritus status. All members of the university faculty who have retired in good standing will be eligible to add the word "Emeritus" or "Emerita" to their academic or administrative title at the time of retirement.
