The Hiring Summit Series is designed to connect students looking for full-time job and internship opportunities with recruiters who are looking to hire a diverse slate of candidates.

2026 Hiring Summits are Closed

The 2026 Hiring Summit Series is now closed. Check back next year for more information!

Three Summits. One Goal.

Each Hiring Summit focuses on a specific industry, creating a space to explore career paths, share insights, and make meaningful connections.

For students, it’s a chance to discover what’s possible, talk one-on-one with employers, and see how your skills translate to the real world. For employers, it’s direct access to curious, motivated UB talent ready to learn, contribute, and build what’s next. 🀝✨

Virtual Fair Checklist

βœ”️Create your Schedule: If your company's fair registration is approved, the schedule owner will receive an email notification to add 1:1 or group sessions for the attending representatives. For 1:1 sessions, the schedule owner has the option to set student qualification requirements (work authorization status, GPA, major group, etc.). If the email is not received, navigate to the fair in Handshake. To add the schedule, click on the red button "Add Schedule" in the email, or on the "Schedule" tab from the fair overview page. For more information, see Handshake's Creating a Schedule for Virtual Fairs.

βœ”️Claim your Schedule: Once the schedule has been created, all representatives will be able to claim their respective schedules by clicking the link in the email sent, or they can login to Handshake, navigate to the fair, then click on the Schedules tab to claim their schedule. Note: Students will not be able to sign up for sessions until you claim your schedule! For more information, see Handshake's Claiming & Participating in a Virtual Fair Schedule.

βœ”️Encourage session signups: Although employers will not be able to invite students directly to their schedules, we highly recommend following the steps in How to Send a Student a Message to reach UB talent in Handshake and encourage them to sign up for your sessions!

βœ”️Prepare for the day-of: Check out this collection of useful tips based on past virtual fairs: Preparing for the Day-of a Virtual Fair.

βœ”️Follow up with candidates afterwards! Refer to Handshake's Following Up After a Fair for best practices.
