This fund provides comprehensive support to the Department of Learning and Instruction.

Teachers do much more than simply teach. They inspire, mentor and make a difference in the lives of their students. Their own love of learning makes them passionate about teaching. The Department of Learning and Instruction (LA), part of the Graduate School of Education, is devoted to educating teachers and conducting research related to all areas of teaching and learning.

Our programs prepare students with the knowledge and skills to become impactful educators, leaders, advocates and empowered change-makers in our schools and communities. Here, our students work with world-class faculty in the classroom, in the field, and on collaborative research and publication efforts — including opportunities with our community research partners.

At LAI, our faculty members are innovative thought leaders who work in a number of subject matter areas that span from the education of young children to adults. As experts in their fields of study, our faculty members are engaged in research that impacts and changes our communities.
