2026 Commencement Highlights
Each spring, Student Life counts down to commencement, hosting many events celebrating our graduating class. From ALANA, Veterans and Lavender, to the Toast and the big day itself, take a look at photos from the 2026 celebrations!
At the conclusion of each academic year, Veteran Services hosts a special honor cord celebration, open to all, recognizing veteran and military-connected graduates who have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree from the University at Buffalo.
Each year we celebrate our graduating students with a champagne toast in their honor, complete with a special souvenir glass that is theirs to keep as a memento of this festive occasion!
At the conclusion of each academic year, UB's LGBTQ+ Center hosts Lavender, a celebration open to all, centered around UB's LGBTQ+ community and allies from all majors, levels of education and backgrounds, who have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree from the University at Buffalo.
At the conclusion of each academic year, the Intercultural and Diversity Center hosts ALANA (African, Latinx, Asian, and Native American), a celebration open to all, centering around the shared experiences of historically racially underrepresented cultures who have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree from the University at Buffalo.
Each school or college holds their own degree conferral ceremony. Various university-wide celebrations are also held to honor the achievements of students who have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree from the University at Buffalo.
