Dear UB Faculty and Staff:

UB is actively seeking to recruit the next Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs (VPFA), a senior leadership position responsible for advancing UB’s goal of promoting faculty excellence through the recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty.  Among other duties, the VPFA is responsible for shepherding the university’s tenure and promotion process; welcoming and orienting new faculty to UB; building an educational program to assist deans in orienting new department chairs to their roles and responsibilities; and developing and implementing strategies to increase faculty recognition.  A full position summary and related qualifications may be found on UB Jobs (no longer available).

Charles Mitchell, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor and Associate Dean, Department of Geology, is chairing the search committee for the VPFA.  Please encourage outstanding senior faculty candidates to apply for this position.

Sincerely,

Charles F. Zukoski
Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
