BUFFALO, N.Y. — As artificial intelligence transforms the workplace, the University at Buffalo School of Management is helping professionals harness its potential through two new programs that will strengthen leadership skills and improve business performance.

The two non-credit programs for executives and professionals offer flexible, online learning experiences that help participants apply AI to everyday challenges, make better decisions and prepare for greater leadership responsibilities.

The four-module Managing with AI program helps participants use AI to organize work, lead teams and improve execution. The seven-module AI Mini MBA, planned for Jan. 2027, prepares professionals by exploring AI applications across finance, marketing, operations, strategy and other business functions.

Both programs emphasize practical applications through real-world business challenges, guided exercises and projects participants can apply directly to their organizations. Participants can also build on completed Managing with AI coursework toward the AI Mini MBA.

“AI is fundamentally changing how organizations operate and what they need from their leaders,” says Ananth Iyer, dean of the UB School of Management. “These programs give professionals the tools to use AI effectively, strengthen their judgment and create meaningful value for their organizations.”

The programs reflect the school’s broader commitment to meeting evolving workforce needs through flexible educational pathways. In addition to integrating AI across degree and nondegree offerings, the school has expanded its graduate portfolio, particularly online options, including a new Doctor of Business Administration, an MS in Business Analytics and Applied AI, and an MS in Supply Chain Management.

These offerings address growing demand for career-focused education that accommodates working professionals. Contact mgt-epe@buffalo.edu for more information.
