Since 2015, Erin has served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). She oversees pre-award and post-award activities and is responsible for administering and facilitating all administrative aspects of sponsored research and fiscal management for the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) funding to the University at Buffalo.

She has worked at the unit, departmental, and leadership levels at the University at Buffalo since 1997. Before her current role, Erin held the position of Associate Director for the Primary Care Research Institute, Department of Family Medicine at the University at Buffalo, and senior research administrator at the University at Buffalo Center for Social Research. Erin has extensive experience in the pre and post-award processes for sponsored agreements. She is an adjunct faculty member for Emmanuel College, teaching Financial Management for Sponsored Programs. Erin has trained research administrators within the University at Buffalo and outside institutions.

Erin is an active member of the National Council of University Administrators (NCURA), the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAi), and the National Organization of Research Development Professionals. She has presented workshops and sessions for NCURA and SRAi national and regional meetings, where sessions focus on pre-and post-award, compliance, and allowability. Erin is a past At-Large member of the NCURA Board of Directors and currently serves on the NCURA Financial Management Committee and the NCURA Compliance Committee; she is a traveling faculty member for the NCURA Financial Research Administration workshop.

She was the recipient of the NCURA Region II Distinguished Service Award and the 2023 NCURA Julia Jacobsen Distinguished Service Award. Erin is also a recipient of the University at Buffalo Chancellor's Award, one of the highest honors at the University given for professional service to the University and commitment to delivering excellence in the profession.

Erin received her Certified Research Administrator credential in 2009 and holds a Master of Science in Management, focusing on Research Administration. She has co-authored publications related to research administration.
