On April 8, 2024, for the first time in 99 years, Buffalo and WNY will experience a Total Eclipse of the Sun. In fact, Western New York is virtually on the centerline of the path of totality, and thus will be a major destination for educators, scientists, media and eclipse chasers.

This webinar will discuss how we are preparing for this rare and spectacular celestial event, how its different departments are collaborating, and what protocols and preparations need to be instituted in order to make “WNY Total Solar Eclipse Week 2024” a success.

Lastly, we’ll describe what makes a total solar eclipse so special and life-changing, and why you need to get yourself into the path of the Moon’s shadow on April 8, 2024!
