Recent collaborations have been forged in India, Vietnam and the Caribbean, among other sites worldwide.

A landmark agreement with BITS Pilani, one of India’s premier technical universi- ties, introduced a dual-degree pathway in which students complete two years at BITS and finish their degrees at UB. The first cohort will join this fall. Future collaborations may include joint PhD and graduate programs.

Further cementing UB’s long-standing engagement with India, a five-year memorandum of understanding was signed with six Indian universities, including five of the top-ranked Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Running through 2027, the agreement focuses on advanced research in nanotechnology, biotechnology, sensors, photonics and cyber-physical systems. UB is also working with four of the IITs to establish joint centers of excellence in research areas including photonics, nanomaterials, biotechnology and artificial intelligence.

During a 2024 visit to Vietnam, a UB delegation forged ties with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, paving the way for joint programs in engineering and management. That momentum continued with a formal partnership with the University of Danang, opening doors to research in fields including the Internet of Things, electronics and telecommunications. These agreements promise shared research initiatives, faculty exchanges and new academic pathways for students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

In the Caribbean, UB partnered with the University of the West Indies in 2024 to launch a framework for a joint graduate program and collaborative projects focused on sustainable development. This alliance supports faculty and student mobility while advancing research aligned with the U.N.’s 2030 development goals.
