Is your smartphone set up and ready for UB life?
This versatile app offers easy access to many university-related functions, keeping you connected to all things UB. Here are just a few of the most useful features:
UB Mobile is available to download at no cost from the Google Play Store (Android devices) or the Apple App Store (iOS devices).
You can configure your email app to work with UBmail by following these instructions for Android, iOS, or Kindle Fire. If you’d rather not add your UBmail account to your smartphone’s email app, simply use your phone’s browser to go to https://ubmail.buffalo.edu. Make sure you check your UBmail at least once a day to stay informed with important UB updates and announcements, including messages from professors and classmates.
With the Blackboard Mobile Learn App, available at no charge from the Google Play Store and App Store, you can access lectures, announcements, and course materials on-the-go.
In order to use UB Mobile, UBmail, and UBlearns on campus without eating up your phone’s data, configure your phone to connect to UB’s encrypted Wi-Fi network, eduroam. Setting up UB Wi-Fi on your smartphone is simple; just follow these iOS or Android instructions. When you’ve finished, your smartphone will automatically connect to the secure eduroam Wi-Fi network at UB in addition to hundreds of university campuses around the world.
To get unlimited secure file storage with UBbox on your mobile device, follow these simple steps. Once you’ve activated your UBbox account, you can access it on your smartphone by downloading and installing the official Box App, available from the Google Play Store for Android or the Apple App Store for iOS. After installing Box, log in using your UBITName and password to view and share files in your UBbox account.
