ITCS Field Services

ITCS Field Services is a division of CIT's IT Customer Service, serving the workstation and mobile device needs of specific administrative offices at University at Buffalo.

Service Description

 

ITCS Field Services provides a consistent and reliable client-computer (desktop and mobile device) service for specific University at Buffalo administrative departments to meet computing and office automation requirements, including: 

  • University-owned IT assets including standard desktops, laptops, tablets, scanners, and printers
  • Software support for the standard operating systems, productivity tools and utilities 
  • Technical support and maintenance of managed hardware and software 
  • Standard operating environment management through the release of security patches, anti-virus updates, and other software 
  • Life cycle management

ITCS Field Services is responsible for configuring each workstation with standard software so that UB employees have basic functionality available to them for performing their duties. To keep cost of workstation administration low and to fix problems quickly, CIT-DMS supported workstations are configured so that technical staff can access the individual machines for delivering software, including updates and patches, for repairs and scanning for compliance with established policies and remote support.
