What you are up to now?

I am an independent curator based in New York, New York (US). I have curated in China, Spain, Italy, UK, Japan, and the US. Notable exhibitions include Evolution: about the survival and growth of underground musicians in China, New York and Nirvana Rebirth at the 57th Venice Biennale, Italy; as well as exhibits at the Barcelona International Art Fair, Spain; World Art Center, NY; Oxford International Art Fair, UK; and Tokyo International Art Fair, Japan.  My exhibitions have been featured in i-D, VICE, Musée Magazine, VeNews Magazine, Asia Art Magazine, and other major publications.

What led you into arts management?

Hobbies. Before I came to UB, I worked in auction houses (Christie’s)and galleries(Soka Art Center)in China, which was the place where I came into contact with art management.  Guided by those experiences, I hoped to learn relevant theoretical knowledge of art management.

Most memorable experience in the Program?

Berlin Trip, I experienced a lot during that trip. Contemporary art in Germany is great!

What do you wish you knew then that you know now?

More experiences...  the more exchanges with art institutions and the more exchanges with other countries the better the educational experience will be.

Advice for current/prospective students?

Calm down, study hard, and enjoy the moment.  The opportunity is waiting for you in front; don't limit your imagination.
